BoSox Mommy

The Random Ramblings of a SAHM

About

I'm a stay-at-home-mom and HUGE Red Sox fan blogging life and whatever else I feel like.

I know I said I’d get back to writing here once the kids were better.  Well…they’re better but I still haven’t been writing over here.  I’ve been focusing a lot of time on my main blog.  At one point I wanted to transition things and make this my main blog, but at this point, I’m ok with leaving my main one at Blogger.  I’d like to have it on it’s own domain, so maybe in time.  But things are going well here.  The icky sickies have left and we’re just waiting for Spring to consistently be here…I’m sick of the cold one day, hot the next, then cold, then warm, cold, hot…you get the idea.  LOL!

I’ve been out of town

April 3rd, 2008

I’ve been out of town.  I’m back now, but with two sick kiddos.  Not so fun…I’ll be back when all has returned to normal.

Go Red Sox

March 25th, 2008

The Red Sox started their season today…and won!  I’m very excited!  They play again tomorrow, but it’s super early in the morning…like 4am my time so I won’t see it.  :(  It’s all good though.  They Sox are mixing things up this year and started their season in Japan.  Weird, huh?  But pretty cool.

I’m so excited for May when I actually get to go to a game at Fenway.  My first ever Red Sox game.  Yay!!!!!  I’ve been to MLB games before, but never for my team.

We live for the baseball season at our house.  I’m so dang excited that it’s here again!

It’s been a week

March 20th, 2008

It’s been a week since I last posted here.  I’m still struggling with this one.  The commenter called me a crook and spammer. They reported me to Google.  Ok, whatever, who cares at this point.  I had a PR1 now it’s a PR0.  I think I would feel better if I knew who this person was…they didn’t use a real email or their name.  So I feel like there’s this person out there who doesn’t know me, but hates me and that makes me uneasy.  You know?

But things are good with me.  I’m excited for the MLB season to begin.  The Red Sox season opener is in Japan this year…very different, but it should be cool.  Too bad the games are so dang early in the morning because of it.  LOL!

Haven’t been writing here

March 14th, 2008

Sorry, I haven’t been writing lately.  I was called some unkind things and attacked on here recently (I didn’t approve those comments) and I just haven’t felt safe talking about my family here since.  I’m really trying to think what to do with this blog now.  Any suggestions?

Too Much Dora!!!

March 6th, 2008

My toddler loves Dora the Explorer.  I can’t take it anymore.  I hate it!  The show drives me nuts!  Granted it’s better than Yo Gabba Gabba, but still it’s driving me nuts!  When is it going to be warmer outside so we can just go play instead of being stuck inside with Dora as entertainment?  Gah!  If she didn’t love it so much I’d just change the station, but at this point that would lead to a massive meltdown and I just don’t feel like dealing with that.

A year or so ago my husband’s brothers surprised their mom with a Hawaii cruise vacation. When they got home and told us about it I thought it sounded like a lot of fun. I had never thought about a Hawaiian cruise before, I guess I just figured you flew there to paradise and island hopped by plane. I was wrong! Cruising around to see all the islands sounded like a blast. At TravelStoreUSA.com you can get the details on your cruising options and book your fantastic dream vacation on an NCL America cruise.  That’s a division of Norwegian Cruise Lines, a trusted name in cruise travel.

Bridezillas

March 5th, 2008

Does anyone else watch Bridezillas?  I don’t watch it frequently, but when I catch it on I’ll stop and watch.  It cracks me up!  These women are AWFUL!!!  If either of my daughters ever get an attitude like that when they get married they’ll find themselves paying for their own wedding.  LOL!  They just did a gay wedding and seriously, one of the guys, the “bridezilla,” was worse than any female bride I’ve ever seen on there.  I’m cracking up right now.

Kaiser Health Plans

March 5th, 2008

This past summer when we had Josie we acquired a LOT of medical debt. Having a baby isn’t cheap! I found myself jealous of so many people around here. Why? Because Kaiser Permanente is huge where we live and we don’t have it. After seeing all our bills we’ve decided that before we have another baby we’re going to get a Kaiser health plan. No ifs, ands or buts about it. A great place to look for Kaiser plans is kaiserquotes.com. You can find quotes for individuals and families as well as small and large group plans. Insurance can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. If you need better insurance or insurance at all check them out today.

Go Away!!!

March 5th, 2008

Oh my gosh! My toddler cracks me up! We’ve been potty training her for about a month now. It seems to be a never ending process. She’s at the point where she just doesn’t want to go, but won’t have an accident either. But whenever she has to go she starts yelling, “Go away!!! Go away!!!” I try to convince her to just sit on the potty. But that logic is lost on her, she’d rather keep playing and yelling at herself. LOL! She either eventually goes or has an accident late in the day. One of these days she’ll get it.

Bedtime Wishes

March 4th, 2008

I don’t really feel like a grown up. I am, obviously, I’m married I have two children, I am a grown up. But I feel like we’re just not quite grown yet. We don’t have furniture, or at least not nice furniture. Our bed consists of a metal frame, that we got for free from my dad’s old secretary, with a mattress on top. I’d love to have a nice bed like the Rutland Bed Frame from time4sleep. I’m a big fan of wooden furniture and I like head and foot boards, this bed has both. Growing up my parents didn’t have a foot board because my dad was tall. But Josh and I aren’t tall, we could have one. I also like how those head and foot boards curve down instead of being straight across. I think it gives it a unique look. And it comes in King size, I’d love that! Our toddler climbs into bed with us each morning and it’s rather crowded in our Queen size bed. Josh and I haven’t talked about getting a new bed anytime soon, but I know we will get one someday. I should show him all the neat beds at time4sleep. They have wooden beds like the one I like, they have Faux Leather Beds, they have leather beds, French style beds, antique style beds as well as different kinds of mattresses and more. Seriously, these beds are GORGEOUS! I’m sitting here nearly drooling over how nice they are.

Right now I’m watching The Biggest Loser.  It’s something I look forward to every week.  A part of me would love to be on the show.  But most of me feels too cowardly to do so.  It would be like saying, “Ok, I’m fat America…look at me!”  And there are people who haven’t seen me since my thin days.  Do I really want them to know I’m fat now?  Ok, so I’m not really fat, but I am overweight.  I’m a chubby mommy and I’m sick of it.  As I watch this show I find myself a little jealous of the contestants.  They have all these weeks to focus on nothing but losing weight.  I think about losing weight all the time.  I exercise, I attempt to eat right…but don’t always succeed.  But I have these two beautiful little distractions that take so much of my time.  I love being a mom…but I wish I had some help so I could spend an hour or so a day really focusing on me.  Sigh…

Cute Little Mouseketeer

March 4th, 2008

I was going through some old photos in my photobucket account and came across this one of K. We were at Disneyland. I think at 13 months she was too young to enjoy it. But…she sure looked cute, huh? Ok, I’m the mom so I’m totally biased. LOL! I love going through old photos!

Have you ever heard of Vat19.com? They’re the perfect place to go for unique gifts. I have a few items from their site and it’s seriously fun stuff. Just looking at their site can be addicting and I guarantee you’ll see stuff that will have you thinking, “Wow! How cool!” Like this Cordless Electric Warming Tray. Oh my gosh, you don’t know how much I’d love this! For day to day use it would be useful for me since I don’t seem to have the best timing when finishing different parts of our meals. With this it wouldn’t matter if something was finished 10 minutes early. Just stick it on here and keep it warm while everything else cooks. And it would also be fantastic when hosting a party. That way the food could be kept warm while everyone fills up their plates buffet style.

Do you want to see a video showing just how awesome this tray is? Of course you do, so click here.
